About the Program
The International University of Rabat (UIR) is internationally oriented; its openness to the world occupies centre-stage of its teaching and research missions. Since its beginnings, the UIR has set the goal to become a university that stands by its name: The International University of Rabat. Its goal is to become an internationally renowned university offering high quality education and promoting internationalization through projects that facilitate the mobility of students and faculty. UIR hosts a large number of foreign students each semester, with international full-time students representing 2 percent of the enrollment.
The international office, in charge of students' orientation and administrative follow up, organizes culture immersion activities such as day trips to cities like Casabalanca, workshops (henna, pottery, calligraphy, to name a few), and city tours (Rabat and Salé). All activities are free of charge except for overnight trips.
Credits/Classes
Students earn 12 to 15 US credit hours per semester at UIR.
Most courses are taught in English, but students with strong French language skills (B2 minimum) may also take courses taught in French. Among the courses offered are the following:

In addition to the disciplines listed above, UIR offers a special integrated program for study abroad students titled The Middle East, Mediterranean, and North African (MEdiNA) Studies Program. This program includes a wide array of interdisciplinary courses addressing the history, culture, languages, economics, and politics of this region.

Accommodation
Students may live in on-campus housing or opt for a homestay. Housing is guaranteed for students who meet the deadlines and other application requirements, such as a housing deposit.

Academic Year 2021-2022
Charged to OCU Student Account:
- OCU tuition and fees.
Invoiced to student by UIR:
- On-Campus Housing: $190-330 per month depending on location
- Homestay: $4,300 (approximately $16/night for 9 months)
- Housing Deposit: $320
- Activity Fee: $0
- Additional UIR Activities: $100-700 depending on activity duration and destination
Additional costs that students pay directly:
- Round-trip Airfare
- Medical Insurance: OCU's travel policy may be sufficient. Students should research options based on personal needs
- Passport and visa fees
- Local transportation, including travel to and from airport
- Meals: A meal plan is not offered, but students have kitchen facilities in their housing
- Personal expenses

- Additional UIR Activities: $100-700 depending on activity duration and destination

Eligibility
Eligibility
- Sophomore standing or above
- Must be at least 18 years of age at beginning of program
- Minimum 3.0 GPA (Students with a 2.50 to 2.99 will be considered on a case-by-case basis.)
- Good standing with OCU
- Students who wish to study in French should be a B2 level or above
