Bright Society: Bold moves, bright future

Oklahoma City University is committed to securing our local impact and global reach. Our mission began over a century ago and we have proven success preparing the best and the brightest learners to create, lead, and serve. Now is the time to build upon our legacy and storied success in order to shape and secure the future of Oklahoma City University - and propel our students to even greater heights. The intellectual breadth and intimate scale that this esteemed institution provides learners is dependent upon private support. Your annual investment will enable OCU’s president to implement the most pressing university-wide priorities, all to the benefit of our students and our community.

Established in 2018 with the inauguration of President Martha Burger, Bright Society serves as a critical network of supporters who are deeply valued by University administration. Three presidential-level priorities are identified each year and donors receive reports on the impact of their investments.

Considering the current challenges surrounding the delivery of meaningful instruction during a pandemic, 2020-2021 Bright Society funding will be concentrated upon ongoing technology needs due to COVID-19, financial support for students who are in good standing but may be falling behind on tuition due to financial hardships, and support for diversity and inclusion programming. We need to make bold moves in these areas to secure OCU’s bright future.

In gratitude for your investment in these key areas through the President's Excellence Fund, President Burger will include Bright Society members in special events and personalized communications. Among these are our annual donor celebration, regional receptions, campus-wide events, and other activities to build intimate engagement with Oklahoma City University. Members will also receive Bright Society progress reports and be recognized in University publications.

Bright Society is comprised of all alumni, friends, and corporate partners of who are actively contributing a minimum of $2,000 annually for three years to the OCU President's Excellence Fund. As one of President Burger's top priorities is scholarships, members may restrict half of their annual investment to scholarship support in a specific school or in athletics, if they wish.
