Stars on the Front Lines of the Pandemic: Ashton Gatewood

We are inspired by the stories of our alumni serving on the front lines during this global pandemic.

Over the course of the next few weeks, we want to share their stories with you. Some are serving their communities, some are far from home, but all are serving with courage and grace.


Ashton Gatewood -

Director of Public Health at the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic


Ashton Gatewood graduated from OCU in 2015 as a Registered Nurse with Bachelor's Degrees in both Cellular and Molecular Biology and Spanish. She continued her education at The University of Oklahoma and received a Master's Degree in Public Health, Health Administration and Policy.

She is currently the Director of Public Health at the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic, a nonprofit corporation that strives to increase access to quality health care and wellness services and produce positive health care outcomes for urban American Indians living in central Oklahoma.
