OCU Hosts Virtual Presentation on Local Film Industry

Blueprint film

Oklahoma City University will host a virtual presentation at noon April 8 about the local emerging film industry as part of its Blueprint Speaker Series.

Featured guest speakers will be filmmakers Amy Duzinski Janes, co-founder of Green Pastures Studio and the chief inspiration officer for OETA’s Oklahoma Film & TV Academy; and Nathan Gardocki, president and founder of Nathan Gardocki Productions.

Attendees must pre-register online by April 7 to receive a link to the Zoom event.

Topics will include film industry workforce development, industry growth and projections, and industry infrastructure.

Green Pastures Studio is a 12-acre campus on the northeast edge of Oklahoma City. It was the first full-service soundstage in the state. In addition to co-founding the studio, Janes is also an executive producer and partner at Fanology and has several years of filmmaking experience. She is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and was vice president of film production for Parkchester Pictures, a Paramount Pictures shingle where she produced “As Seen Through These Eyes” with Maya Angelou.

Nathan Gardocki Productions is a film equipment rental company based in Oklahoma City. Gardocki, who earned a BFA in film production from OCU in 2010, has worked in various roles in the industry on dozens of films, including “The Killer Inside Me,” “Heaven’s Rain” and “Yellow.”

OCU’s Blueprint Speaker Series provides a space for conversations about professional development and industry in Oklahoma City, while connecting OCU alumni and community members in general with thought leaders in the local business community.
