President's Leadership Class
The President's Leadership Class (PLC) is a program for students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in academics and extracurricular endeavors.
In 2001, PLC began as a program to identify leadership potential in incoming students to Oklahoma City University. Since then, PLC has produced more than 300 campus leaders and successful professionals.
As of 2014, PLC, offered to freshmen students awarded with the OCULeads scholarship, expanded to include first-year Clara Luper and American Indian Scholarships recipients.
These students have the opportunity to meet OCU's most talented faculty, staff and administrators, participate in community service projects, and meet distinguished university guest speakers.
Program Requirements
- In the fall and spring semesters of their first year, scholarship recipients will enroll in the PLC course which meets once per week, on Tuesdays 1:00-1:50 p.m. This involves planning for and participation in various extracurricular activities.
- During their first year, scholarship recipients will reside in on-campus housing designated as the PLC Living/Learning Community and benefit from enriching co-curricular activities that complement academic coursework. Please note: the OCULeads Scholarship does not cover room and board costs.
